SWEET TREATS

No trip is complete without sampling the town's famous local delicacies. Not one with a sweet tooth, some would usually rather shop for accessories and things for the home when out of town.
However, would you make it a point to buy edible pasalubong for everyone back home to give them a taste of the places you had been. There's more to any city than malls, status, museums, and traffic. Sweets, it seems, is also a universal language. We found these deserts and pasalubong treats made with milk-the most potent arsenal of most desserts

You're missing out on a lot if you haven't had the pleasure of sinking your teeth into a spoonful of Ube Jam . While nothing compares to witnessing your lola and titas make the jam in right in your kitchen, this pre-packed one good and fresh. You'll love its velvety texture and subtle sweetness-we can't blame you if you eat it right out the jar.

Some of the country's best desserts are made right in your neighborhood. Caramel Cake is creamy, melt-in-your-mouth goodness, trapped in the softest layered, caramel-coated cake. Caramel cake are not hard to find, but this one is particularly spacial-not too sweet and not too sticky. You'll get hooked at first bite.

If you're looking for delicious classic Pinoy delicacies, then kakanin in Malabon City will certainly be worth the trip. Their must-try Sapin-sapin is a favorite, even among those who aren't big fans of kakanin. The special ingredients are blended perfectly to create a really balanced, addictive sweetness.

YOUR DIGITAL FRAMES

You have the family over for the typical holiday gathering-you spend the day snapping photos with your digital cameras. After you've nailed a card full of image, it's off to the computer room to strut your stuff. The family piles in with everyone trying to peek around shoulders and lean in to get a better look at the image you just called on your computer screen. There's no place sit, the room is hot and stuffy, and you family's enthusiasm level is dropping faster than the price on digital cameras.
Well, it might have taken a while, but digital-imaging manufacturers have responded to the above problem with some nifty little hand-help digital-display and cyber-frame devices that allow for the convenient and comfortable display of your digital masterpieces.

CLICK AND PRINT

In response to the burgeoning growth of the digital camera market, several manufacturers of digital cameras and related products have introduced new printers that incorporate camera memory-card readers. and other convenience and enhancement features. This makes them ideal companions for digital cameras.
Some of these new printers can even be operated as standalone, computer-independent printers, able to print image directly from the camera's memory card. When connected to a computer, some of these printers can also be used as pass trough card reader, to transfer image to the computer for image manipulation and processing. And of course they can also be utilized as general-purpose printers for text, envelopes, banners, card, t-shirt transfers and myriad other uses.

THE MAGIC OF CAMERA

My ability to see beauty in what could be monotony to anyone else is what fuels me to keep up with this can of lifestyle. Even on rare vacations, I would still lug the camera along and shoot. "Photography" is one of my life, with a great passion, and I can't help but click away when I see beautiful subjects and situational images.
I begun to shift into professional photography after winning several photo contests, both local and international. I bought a professional camera from my cash winnings. Before, I used to borrow camera from my cousin and friends, so it took me a while to buy a professional cam, from the fruit of my labor I was able to buy my own cam and beginning to reap.
Now, I have more chance to explore the art of photography. As an artist it became easy for me to get the right angle and catch the unique and natural beauty of one object. As years pass by, I can't help but wonder of the fast paced technology, having said that the world of photography is turning into digital photography which means requires more skills into digital photo enhancement. Your subject becomes more extra dramatic when you enhance it through the use of a computer. Using software which you can buy in a cheaper price.
As you enter into photo digital world, there's a lot of experiments and you can immediately see the results which allows you to make adjustments and corrections on the spot. Now, in digital world, it's a worry free for those who don't have enough budget in buying a film because digital cam is a free film camera, using only a memory card you can capture as many subjects as you want depending on the capacity of your memory. You can transfer, delete, and edit with your captured pictures into your computer.
Realizing the speed of technology requires non-stop learning to discover more techniques. Before it was just a hobby now.... It's my life!

STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER

Like the song of popular band Beatles "Strawberry Fields" the pride of La Trinidad Benguet is the mouthwatering freshly sweet picked strawberries. I've already been here before, I've watched the Strawberry festival with the Philippine's president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, as a guest of honor to open the ceremony of the festival. The president sliced the giant Strawberry as a sign of the beginning of their festival followed by the street dancing by the native people of La Trinidad to entertain various tourists who's visiting the town. The people of La Trinidad were so kind, hospitable and heartwarming. Being hospitable, they invited us to visit their Strawberry field and showed plenty of Strawberries to picked and taste. Those yummy strawberries.
La Trinindad Benguet is also known as VEGETABLE BASKET because of variety of fresh vegetables (makes you healthy). I also noticed that 80% of the flower industry are coming from here. So nice and sweet to be here also because of their Strawberry and Ube Jam made from real Strawberries and Ube.

THE HUNGING COFFINS

The enchanted mountain in the cordillera region at an altitude of 1400 meters is one of the most beautiful and visited place. It's refreshingly cool climate makes for a wonderful break from the sticky heat of the lowlands.
Looking back at the past, burial coffins belonging to the Igorots were hung on a prominent cliff face. Many of the more accessible coffins are quiet recent. This is also where Sagada is known for. It is indeed a fascinating experience going into this place.

THE RICE TERRACES

Remembering the days when I was in Baguio,It was cold breezy that night when we where at the fire place talking where will be our next tour, our next tour probably is one of the eight wonders of the world. The RICE TERRACES located at high altitude the main inhabitants of Ifugaos. Ancestors built the mighty rice terraces that still cover so many of the mountainsides in the area around Banaue. On such steep hillsides often the only way to get around, for instance to reach urban, is to follow paths that have been made along the edges of the rice terraces. It's fun and exciting to upclose to the people, specially the Igorots...

CITY OF PINES

The summer capital of the Philippines is the largest city in the Cordillera. Sprawling across steep, rolling hills Baguio nearly 1500 meters (4920 feet) above sea level .Baguio is the first stop for many people starting a tour of the mountains or in search of respite from the lowland heat . Although the downtown area is as crowded and noisy as any Filipino city, especially to the east where the Botanical Garden and Club John Hay can be found, are filled with pine trees , giving the feeling of a town scattered through the forest .Club John Hay , formerly an American military leisure club, is particularly beautiful with rolling parkland and fine mounting views.

VISIT SAN FERNADO LA UNION

The north of Philippines is not as well known for its beaches as some of the more southerly islands, but one popular beach area lies around San Fernando, the capital of La Union province, south of Vigan. There is a good surfing beach to the north of the city at San Jaun but the most popular area lies a few kilometers to the south, at the village of Bauang. Here, a long stretch of sand is lapped by calm seas, and many attractive hotel have been established. Despite being 150 kilometers (93 miles) north of Manila, Bauang is easily accessible from the capitol, and large numbers of Manila residents visit the village at the weekends, using the beach and hotel not only for rest and relaxation but also for parties and special occasion.

Vigan's Colonial Heritage of the North

Established as the capital of the far north in 1572 by Juan de Salcedo, Vigan is today the Philippines' best preserved Spanish houses, from which motor transport has been banned. Here, the horse-drawn calesa remains the main means of getting around, while in the modern part of the city, public transport consists of decorated motorised tricycles. The old district also contains a number of elegant Spanish villas, some of which, including the Villa Agelina are now hotel. These still provide a glimpse of the elegant life of their colonial owners. A range of arts and crafts flourishes in Vigan, including the production of burnay pots, huge storage jars which have been produced in the city for hundreds of years ago.

ONE HUNDRED ISLANDS OF JOY

On the other side of the Lingayen Gulf from the beaches of Alaminos, Pangasinan lies a cluster of small beautiful coralline limestone islands famous know as the "Hundred Islands".Projected as a national recreation area administered by the Philippine Tourism Authority, this is a popular place for visitors, with a well regulated system of outrigger boat hire for island visits and tours that operate out of the nearby mainland village of Lucap. Most of the islands consist of vertical cliffs of limestone, topped by scrubby forest, on which it is impossible to land. Indeed, many have been undercut by the sea; as a result, the smallest islets form attractive "tables" that hang above the surrounding shallow waters.
