CITY OF PINES

The summer capital of the Philippines is the largest city in the Cordillera. Sprawling across steep, rolling hills Baguio nearly 1500 meters (4920 feet) above sea level .Baguio is the first stop for many people starting a tour of the mountains or in search of respite from the lowland heat . Although the downtown area is as crowded and noisy as any Filipino city, especially to the east where the Botanical Garden and Club John Hay can be found, are filled with pine trees , giving the feeling of a town scattered through the forest .Club John Hay , formerly an American military leisure club, is particularly beautiful with rolling parkland and fine mounting views.
